how joy came to Sete
During our time in Sete, France, we made an effort to spread as much joy as possible. In some instances, it was physical Joy: detergent in the squid fountain late at night. The next morning, our secret mission turned into a beautiful public display that we played in like snow! We took a trip to the carousel in town, pushing Joy (the girl) in a shopping buggy since she was rather ill that day....
Baptism in the "next wave"
The Next Wave is equipped with a mini prayer wall in the library where anyone is free to make their prayers public. That way others can join in praying, besides the bonus of learning about each others’ families, finances and futures! When my team arrived on the boat about 6 weeks ago, we each wrote down something we believed God wanted do before the end of outreach, then we abbreviated...

Montredon by Andrea
Last week we left the boat to go to a new base in Montredon. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was all good! The first day we prayed and asked God what He had prepared for us. The answer was great; He showed us a picture of a boat and we were on top of it. We were handing out fruit to people. God was asking us to feed them, like He did with the disciples when He multiplied the bread...

Praying feverishly, ferociously, fanaticly for you!!!!!!
– A good friend said to the Milan DTS outreach in Barcelona
We love our Healer!
This morning as Loren and I were strategizing about how to take turns getting ready for church (our room is tiny), we laughed at how God has surprised us. I was expecting outreach in Africa, she was expecting outreach in Italy and here we both are: aboard the Next Wave, in Spain! Although life on the ship is super ´character building´I am so happy God brought us here. This week our friend...

a free hand-out
This morning we worked with 3 local believers (associated with “operation transit”) and handed out about 60-70 packets to Spanish Muslims. Each packet contained a Bible in Arabic, the Jesus film, “More than a Carpenter,” and kid’s books. We simply looked for people who looked African or Middle Eastern and greeted them in Arabic. If they responded, then we handed them...

update from Spain: 12 Dec 09
We’re in Spain, docked at Palamos. Emily got sick with some infection on day 2. I’m resting and all that, but achiness, swollen throat, and fever won’t stop me.
The students are going well. We got a free salsa lesson yesterday on board by the “godfather of salsa.” Spanish is coming back to me and Rachel poco a poco. Joy & Mily are at home and translating for us...

Viva Switzerland!
This past weekend, a few of us (Emily, Leslea, Andrea, and Rachel) had the privilege to take a road trip to Bern, Switzerland to visit our dear, sweet Regula. After Saturday’s lecture, we all piled into Andrea’s car and made the 4 hour trip to Bern. For the 3 American girls, it was our first time seeing Switzerland. All I can say is BEAUTIFUL! Snow-capped mountains, Alpine houses, and...
Hope for Europe
As Christians, we are used to seeing the status of the our society in a negative way: “our society is so bad, everything is going to pieces, etc…” we just hear the bad news and we look at the bad things.
During the teaching of these last two days, we have looked at the story of Christianity in Europe and, I must say that I was surprised, actually I could see that the situation is not so bad AT...
REMAR
This Sunday we had the opportunity to go to evening church services at the REMAR facility for men in Milano. Emily and Andrea helped out with the music, playing the flute and drums. Since many of the people attending the service were native Spanish speakers, there was a nice variety of hymns sung in Spanish and Italian. The preacher, who is originally from the Canary Islands, delivered the sermon...
Relationships
This week we got to have a lecture on “Relationships,” presented by Luigi and Paola Tommasi. They did an awesome job with their two days of teaching. Here are some of my favorite key points:
+ John 13:34 ”A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Loving our fellow man can sometimes seem like an incredible obstacle...

Prayer requests for this week
We have a wild month ahead and we need extra prayer support.
Can you pray for a meeting tomorrow (Nov 4)? Our leaders are meeting with the mayor and the school superintendent of a small town nearby. We were invited to initiate a school program to reach the youth in the village to teach about life values. This village has major drug problems and is so needy for hope and mission! This is an...

Father Heart of God
This past week our lecture was on the “Father Heart of God,” and what a wonderful week it turned out to be. Our teacher was Kim, from the YWAM Hurlach base in Germany. All of our hands got a workout searching through the Bible as every point that Kim taught had a scripture at its root. This made the lecture very easy to follow, and I tip my hat to Kim for providing an incredibly deep...
Week in Casorate
During this week, Leidy and I helped Thomas with Casorate Church activities that were going to be later that week. For example, we gave invitations to the people in the street for the concert “Evangelist activity” on October 24.
We went with the Pastor Manuel of Casorate’s Church to encourage two ladies from Cuba (mother & daughter), who were baptized two weeks ago. Leidy gave her testimony...
Fear of man
This week it’ s been great, God gave us a big shake.
The teaching started with THE FEAR OF GOD, I must say that usually it’s not what we think. So what is this fear of God ?
I think that when people hear FEAR OF GOD: they think “ooooo” God is scary, and we must be afraid of Him. So ARE YOU AFRAID OF GOD !!!!?????
I think we can’t understand the fear of God, until we...
In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.
– Your brother, Jesus

Alpha Course
We have had the opportunity to contribute to an Alpha Course. We serve the food, wash the dishes, do the coat check…
The Alpha Course is run by a Catholic church in the centre of Milan! It’s amazing working together with Catholics, to overcome the gap between Protestants and Catholics! We are just one big team:-) And have fun together!
For us Wednesday evening also means: “Have...
