This past weekend, a few of us (Emily, Leslea, Andrea, and Rachel) had the privilege to take a road trip to Bern, Switzerland to visit our dear, sweet Regula. After Saturday’s lecture, we all piled into Andrea’s car and made the 4 hour trip to Bern. For the 3 American girls, it was our first time seeing Switzerland. All I can say is BEAUTIFUL! Snow-capped mountains, Alpine houses, and broad-leafed trees in every shade of autumnal color. And of course, who could forget all that Swiss chocolate - yum.
Regula’s wonderful family welcomed us into their home for our overnight stay, providing us with loads of delicious food for breakfast and dinner. Leslea finally got to show off her piano skills when we had an in-house worship Sunday morning with Regula and her family. It was my first time singing in German — what an experience :)
After a tour of Regula’s home city and another sumptious family dinner, we said our goodbyes and traveled back to Milano. Though we all wished we could have stayed longer, it was still an amazing trip that none of us are likely to forget. We look forward to another opportunity when we can see Regula again.
